“We made possible a virtual meeting with prayer and joy”
On the occasion of the beginning of Holy Week, the “First virtual meeting of Lay Claretians” was held with the aim of living in fraternal communion and prayer, from home and in the family, especially in these complicated moments we are going through at world level. The space was promoted by Bruno La Hoz, Delegate of Vocational Promotion for the Movement.
The Encounter began at 12:30 p.m. (from Lima/Bogotá) on Sunday, April 5, Palm Sunday, with the participation of lay people from Spain and America.
Juan Carlos Díaz was encouraged by an opening prayer and Nancy Burgos shared with us a reflection taking the Gospel of the day. Later some lay people shared their little reflection and prayer. The advisors of the communities of Peru also joined the meeting: Fr. Benito García CMF, advisor of the communities of Gran Pajatén and Meraki, and Fr. Ángel Núñez CMF, advisor of the communities of Arequipa and Chaski to greet us and encourage us to continue.
It was an empowering experience in the special situation we are going through. It was an opportunity to meet and reflect in the light of the Gospel, to share our experience and to unite in prayer. A new way of living in community despite the distance and confinement.
And since the experience was a success we met again on Easter Sunday to celebrate it.
